Hi. I was wondering if there are any good and professional photography companies out there. I have two brothers, (6 and 13) who i want to have professionally photographed. If you know of any, please tell me. I don’t care about the price.
Thanks. :) By the way, I live in the San Diego Area.

Okay, I wonder why you want to have them photographed; but–

If you want them to have a modelling portfolio, make sure that YOU own the pics. The photographer will keep a copy for his files but YOU will own the rights. If this is not amenable to him, find another photographer. (There are millions to choose from.)

In modelling, the portfolio belongs to YOU, not the photographer. YOU have the rights to send it to agents without consulting the photographer or getting his permission. You do not work for the photographer; he works for you. The Internet is full of pics of sweet kids that are sold to disreputable sites by disreputable photographers.

If you just want a good portrait of them done, for your gran’s buffet, go to a highly-respectable photographer in your area. Ask for references. Ask for prices. Ask for suggestions. Get the most you can for your money. DO NOT rely on him for a portfolio. Be careful what you sign, especially when it asks you to give over rights to distribution to him.

Be careful.

I am planning on asking for a photography camera from my parents for christmas..something not too expensive because I am only 16, but i am very passionate about it.
I want something that can take amazing glamour shots, makes the pictures look professional, and looks extremely high definition. I want it to be digital too

Help?? Thanks:)
by the way ive been in photography classes for two years and just give me ideas on good cameras, i can figure out the costs and all that later!

First things first: Photos are taken by photographers and not cameras as the books are written by authors and not typewriters.
Now coming to your question pick up any start up model of digital dslr. I am using D-60 nikon and not complaining

My teacher wants me to find 20 jobs in the photography business. I have no idea where to start

How to start a home based photography business. My friend is very good in taking pictures and now she wants to go into business.

She has all the equiplents but want to have ideas about how to set up a business. She would be doing on-location shoots and not in home based studio.

Who all does she needs to contact - for licence, permit or registering name ect - step- by- step info would be really helpful.

Hi Crafter,
I don’t know much about photography but I do have something to share with you.
I have a place you can advertise your website for free.
It is simple- you dont’ spend all day trying to figure it out. Actually, I will give you the few simple steps to do it.
it is good
it is free-no credit card or anything like that.
all you have to do is look at others websites for about 10 minutes a day.
as a bonus they will pay you quite a good sum to do it.
it is real and i can prove it to you.

A few things:
1. Don’t believe anything on the internet that says you can make money at home.
2. Don’t offer to pull out a credit card for a company or business you can’t do a search on Yahoo and find out some info first
3. Don’t try any business you can’t actually find anyone who has been successful at it.

I was a struggling realtor/home flipper here in Florida and going through my life savings with bad real estate investments. A local successful businessman told me about a company and I checked them out thoroughly.
You can contact me and i will give you the info you need to check it out for FREE! No credit card or personal info asked for ever. This is a real company you can check out on the BBB, you can google the successful owner/ceo. He just won a national award for this business and received it personally from President Bush.
I will also give you actual people you can call and ask their experience and a chatroom (not associated with company) where you can talk to others in the company. No selling vitamins or health drinks or any crap like that.
This is an internet advertising company that is gearing to be the biggest internet presence since Google/Face book and the owners philosophy is, instead of making one owner and a bunch of stockholders rich it will be us, the people who got in early and built company.
You can contact me at dapproperties@yahoo.com and I will personally help you.

My daughter would love to go to a photography camp this summer. Does anybody have any suggestions? She can take beautiful pictures with our Nikon D60, but has never had any formal training.

It really depends on where you love.
In Los Angeles, there’s this school called FIDM.
It’s mainly a school for fashion, but they have other subjects like photography, music, interior decorating ect.

They offer summer programs for high school kids; although, they are very expensive. Scholarships are given to students who demonstrate AMAZING skills.

:]

I have my first photo-shoot with two little girls (sisters) in about an hour.
What are some last minute tips on taking amazing children pictures?

I know you had your shoot but here are things I do to get great shots:

1. I sit them next to each other or the smallest in the olders lap/ between legs. Hand the oldest a book that will photograph well and ask them to read or point out a picture (wheres the sun? show the bear.) to the younger one. This gives a great candid of them reading together.

2. Get a big prop flower and have them next to each other facing each other and have them both hold the flower. Tell them you saw a bug in the flower and ask them to look for it. This gives another great candid.

3. For individual shots, give them a teddy bear and ask to tell you what color eyes he has. Or give teddy a hug.

4. Sit them next to each other and have one tell the other a secret. Or play telephone. You tell one something that the other has to say to her sister so you get yet again another great candid.

5.Telling each other a joke facing one another.

6. Depending on your props and their age, you can have them both with backs towards the camera. Have them looking into a mirror. Focus on their faces in the mirror but have the older doing the youngers hair.

Here are prop free staples:

6. Have the oldest laying down on her tummy facing the camera on an angle and have the younger laying perpendicular to the other and have her resting on her with one arm on her back. This gives a casual appearance.

7. Both of them laying straight at the camera with their fists under their chins. They are side by side. You would only photograph their heads and arms. Not their bodies.

8. Have the older one laying on down on their stomach and have the younger one sitting on her back with her legs tucked to the side like a lady. The older ones legs would be crossed in the air.

9. Depending on their height you might have to have one sitting on a block. But you can have the younger between the olders legs and have them sitting looking off in the distance. You would take the picture from their shoulders up. So you are seeing both of their faces.

I hope you get some inspiration from these ideas. These are poses that have gone over well with me in the past. I just hope I explained it all in a way so you understand what I mean. If you have any questions, just contact me.

I want to start my own photography business. I am fifteen and in need of $. I really love photography.

A friend of mine goes to fairs and concerts and sports events very early and snaps pictures of groups and individuals when they arrive.
He sets up a tent and works with strobes and a poster of he event as background. His fiancee takes data of the customers.
U can also go to conventions and balls and of course weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and school events. Even the playhouse and fancy holiday dinner parties at condos.
U will need a clearance from the organizers.
Open a website and show ur best photos as reference.
Sell the snapshots at a low price and print ur business name and phone # on the back for repeat business.
U can do commercial work like posters, business cards and post cards. Make shots of inventories and fleets.
There is a lot of businesses who could use a good photographer. Most are flight by nights. U must return to ur customers to update.

My sister always constantly takes my nephew and niece to child photphotography sessions, I don’t say anything about it to her, but I feel that its not right thing to do, should I say something?

Holy crap i read this as addicted to child pornography .

I am interested in a career in photography and i like to travel.
There are lots of wonderful careers in photography and i want to know which one offers more traveling.

Thank You.

I need tips to get better poses and all over better pictures. I am working with a Kodak Easyshare Z1012 and I have been practicing for months.

=) Thank You!

They are very good. This is something you have the talent to pursue. Some people come on here with $1200 cameras asking "what’s this button do, the one that says "on?"

But if you can get the pictures you got with the camera you have, I think if you saved up and got a nice medium format camera (and learned how to use it) you could really get a nice portrait studio going on. You’re style reminds me of the old guys out of Bohemian Paris.
